Opt-In Model of Health Care

FDN refers to itself as an Opt-in Model of health care; you decide how you want to approach your health care.

You can choose the standard medical model that chases symptoms and tends to treat labs, or you can opt into a system (which has been around for over 10 years) and learn to heal yourself.

This is not to say that you should never see a doctor. In fact, there are certain cases where I will tell you to see a doctor.

If we work together and labs show you have an intestinal parasite, I am legally bound to tell you that you MIGHT want to see a doctor to get it treated; however, I will also tell you that, in my opinion, I’d treat it with specific supplements designed to kill off parasites. It is up to you to decide which way to go. Obviously, I can’t help with broken bones, infections, etc.

The FDN and how I practice are founded on sound medical principles. Unlike conventional medicine, we focus on treating the whole body and try to find the root/underlying cause(s) of your health problems instead of popping pills to get rid of the symptoms. In many cases, we may never truly find the root cause, but by helping the whole body heal itself, the underlying issues go away. Does it matter what the underlying cause was? Most likely, it does not. All that really matters is that you are healthy, feel better, and can live your life the way you want.

We run labs; without them, we are just guessing about improving your health. In many cases, you could actually get worse if I tell you to do something or take a supplement that would be contra-indicated by lab work.

The labs we run are only different than those you’d get from LabCorp or Quest in that we don’t require a blood draw, except for our food sensitivity screen. Everything else is done through saliva samples, urine samples, or stool samples. We get just as much, if not more, information from these labs as what you’d get from blood work.

Blood work is only a snapshot in time. If you are checking cortisol or sex hormones and you test in the afternoon, your reading will be different than if you had blood drawn first thing in the morning. Our labs, primarily the cortisol and sex hormones, look at samples from several times throughout the day, giving us a much better picture of how your body is functioning.

I examine the results of all the labs and see how they correlate to your symptoms. Only then can I give you my recommendations on self-treatment. My standard protocol includes dietary changes, improving rest, modifying your exercise regimen, teaching you how to reduce stress from all sources, and using smart supplementation to give the body what it needs to repair itself.

If you are genuinely sick with cancer, Type I, or Type II diabetes, or suffer from other severe medical conditions, then, of course, you need to seek out medical help. What I do is not medicine; it is self-healing through Diet, Rest, Exercise, Stress Reduction, and proper supplementation.

If you are ready to learn how to heal yourself, book a consultation call. I can work with you no matter where you live.
